Interim Leadership Structure

We have identified an interim leadership structure for the Physical Plant due to departure of Rob Lamppa, Executive Director of the Physical Plant.

During this interim period, Kris Ackerbauer will serve as the Administrative Leader of the Physical Plant. In this role, he will focus on the day-to-day operations of the department. Kris has served as Director of Services in the Physical Plant since 2000. His responsibilities include the supervision and management of more than 500 employees in Custodial Services, Grounds, Waste & Recycling, and Campus Services. He also represents FP&M on the Arboretum Committee, the Facility Use Committee, and a number of other campus committees.

Before joining FP&M, Kris served for 28 years in the US Navy. He was commissioned from the Naval ROTC program and served several deployments as an A6-Intruder Bombardier/Navigator and squadron commander. His last major command in the US Navy was as Commanding Officer of the Naval Air Station in Kingsville, Texas. His final posting brought him to UW-Madison as Professor of Naval Science and Commanding Officer of the UW-Madison Naval ROTC unit.

The Physical Plant leadership team (Pam Barrett, Duane Marlette, Melissa McGaw, John Mulcahey, Mike Peña, Jeff Pollei, and Cindy Statz) will report to Kris Ackerbauer with a dotted-line reporting relationship to David Darling, Associate Vice Chancellor for Facilities Planning & Management.
