The Physical Plant Pest Control service is responsible for controlling pests and wildlife in approximately 148 buildings and their grounds across campus and works diligently to guard the health and safety of faculty, staff, students, and visitors.
Pest Control:
- Practices the informed use of appropriate pest control measures in compliance with state and federal laws.
- Works closely with faculty, staff, and researchers to ensure control measures will not have adverse impacts on scientific research.
- Consults with researchers to propose alternative methods for dealing with pests when conventional methods are not appropriate.
- Strives to use Integrated Pest Management (IPM) to reduce the risks from pests and pest management-related strategies.
