The Sheetmetal Shop is responsible for welding materials such as plastic, stainless steel, aluminum, and steel. They repair a variety of items on campus from kitchen and lab equipment to animal cages. The shop also fabricates and maintains heating and ventilation duct-work.
The Sheetmetal Shop fixes sash stops, adjusts airflow, and installs and calibrates airflow monitors and testing of fume hoods. Air quality problems are handled jointly with Physical Plant mechanical engineers. Our sheetmetal workers also perform a great deal of architectural work on the buildings.
