Maintenance Mechanics

Physical Plant maintenance mechanics are here to help our campus customers. As the “eyes and ears of the Physical Plant,” they are a vital link between our customers and the services provided by Facilities Planning & Management.

The maintenance mechanics are the first responders to most service calls which come into the Physical Plant. They diagnose problems and, as needed, involve other shops to solve building HVAC and envelope issues.  As an active presence in all campus buildings, the maintenance mechanics use their intimate knowledge of the equipment and systems to provide a continuous flow of information to the other shops. In addition, they perform preventive maintenance on building HVAC equipment to maintain comfortable working environments for all of our campus customers.
