Craig Mayer has been appointed to the position of Director of Maintenance in the FP&M Physical Plant. He will join UW-Madison on October 15, 2018.
Mayer brings more than 25 years of facility engineering experience to UW-Madison. Previously, he was Director of Public Works for a federal facilities team of over 2,400 professionals in facility maintenance, utilities, transportation, energy, and operating/service contracts. He has also served as a director of facilities maintenance, a supervisory business analyst, and as a maintenance department manager in the course of his career.
His experience includes developing and implementing a trades apprenticeship program, leading multi-trade shop teams, and implementing a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Mayer holds a BS in Landscape Architecture from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a ME in Civil Engineering from Old Dominion University.
