Chilled Water Systems in Campus Buildings

We have recently experienced an extended stretch of below freezing temperatures, often combined with heavier than normal early spring snowfalls. This cold early spring weather has delayed our usual six-week time frame for filling the chilled water systems in campus buildings.

As such, we wanted to reach out to you and let you know that we are working as quickly and efficiently as possible to fill the chilled water systems in each campus building so that they will be ready to provide cooling as temperatures rise.

Chilled water systems are filled following this standard set of priorities:

  1. Hospital
  2. Animals
  3. Computer Servers
  4. Research Labs and Chemicals
  5. Auditoriums
  6. Classrooms
  7. Offices
  8. Physical Plant Buildings

There may be a brief time when your building is bit a warmer than preferred, but we will working to minimize that duration and any inconvenience this may cause. We are hoping to have the majority of systems filled by the end of the week of April 30.
